 Should I buy a refurbished iPhone 6s?

You should definitely do your research before buying any refurbished iPhone, as the term can mean different things depending on who you're getting it from. In general, you definitely do save a lot of money buying a phone that's been fully tested and is backed by a warranty versus meeting someone off Kijiji or Facebook marketplace, saving upfront on the price tag but having no recourse should you have issues down the road.

Is iPhone 6s worth buying in 2021?

As of 2021, the iPhone 6s is 5 years old, and many may consider it completely outdated and deprecated. In reality, it's a great phone for younger children who may want a phone to keep in touch with their parents, watch Netflix, YouTube kids, or keep in touch with their friends. It's the oldest iPhone that still supports the current iteration if iOS 14.4 which have extensive screen time and parental controls. Improvements in how the firmware uses battery capacity makes Battery Health a measure between 1 and 100 that shows how much wear your battery has undergone. This gives you a good idea of when your battery actually needs to be replaced and if it is beyond a manageable level. The capacity can't really be changed, but the measure of wear is what's valuable. 

Is it good to buy a refurbished iPhone?

If you're looking for a secondary device, either as a backup while your current one is getting fixed, or for a less tech-savvy family member, a refurbished iPhone is a very cost-effective alternative to a brand new phone. Not only are they fully tested and backed, but older iPhones tend to be more cost-effective to repair. If you break the screen on your iPhone 6s - or even just crack it - the cost is usually well below $100 even with taxes. Compare this to the iPhone X which is an OLED display, the cost for a quality screen replacement will likely never be below $100.
